Grammar Points:
- Colons can introduce almost anything: words, phrases, sentences, quotations, or even lists.
- By creating a pause, the colon helps to emphasize the item that follows it, be it a word, a quote, etc.
- By using "namely" in place of the colon, one can check if the colon is placed grammatically well.
- Make sure not to follow a verb with a colon; this creates redundancy since both the verb and the colon introduce.

*to show a break of thought in a sentence

*Forming possessives:

*Forming contractions:

When the girl was asked if she liked milk, she responded, "Fo' sho'!"
*DO NOT use apostrophes to indicate plurality unless it is a lowercase letter:
